Wine Advocate 91 Points
"A blend of 50/50 Syrah and Grenache (the latter from 52-year old vines) the 2006 Renegade has a crisp nose of mulberry, white pepper and tertiary notes that unfold from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a sappy, fresh entry: bright red-berried fruit, vibrant acidity. However I would like just a little more complexity towards the finish. Drink 2012-2016. "
Tasting Notes
This elegant Rhone blend (our 10th vintage) displays Old World Style with New World fruit. Hint of Grenaches earthy rusticity and Shirazs noble spice with hints of nutmeg and salty black olive on the finish. Balanced with soft integrated tannins.
Food Pairings
Serve with roasts, duckling and full flavored Mediterranean dishes as well as lamb or grilled meat and vegetables.
Alcohol by volume: 14.5%
Winemaker Notes
Fermented in open tanks with gentle extraction by pumping over and then pressed and racked into second and third fill French oak barrels for 12 months. This adds complexity and structure to the soft natural tannins. 5 % New American Oak.
