Wine Advocate 89 Points
The 2008 Chianti Classico is impressive. Fragrant red cherries, spices, leather and licorice emerge from this beautifully delineated, layered Chianti Classico. This is elegant and impeccably refined from start to finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018.

This is sweet, with a hint of oak influence lending spice accents to the cherry and bitter almond. Structured, but fresh, intense and long, with nice length. Drink now through 2015.

Maceration without stalks is performed at a controlled temperature of 28°C for 10-12 days. Malolactic fermentation occurs in steel vats. Maturation of at least 15 months follows, managed partly in oak casks and partly in tonneaux. The wine is blended in stainless steel vats. Very wide filtration is applied at the bottling stage, which is followed by ageing in glass for at least 6 months.
