Wine Advocate 88 Points
The 2006 Cavas de Crianza Cabernet Sauvignon was also sourced from 80-year-old vineyards in La Consulta and received the same oak regimen as the Blend. It exhibits a similar aromatic and flavor profile but with more emphasis on cassis and black currant. The flavors are attractive now although the wine will benefit from another 2-3 years of cellaring.

Tasting Notes
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is from the La Consulta sub-region of the Uco Valley in Mendoza. The wine shows notes of mocha, white chocolate, and cedar that lead to a dark, baked blueberry center with a smooth and supple finish.
The Winery
Clos de Chacras is a boutique winery located in the Chacras de Coria sub-region of Lujan de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina. The winery dates back to 1921 when it was founded by Don Bautista Gargantini, the grandfather of the current owner, and was remodeled in 2003 to a modern winery. The winery owns and has long term contracts in some of the best vineyard locations in Mendoza in Maipu, Uco Valley, and Carrodilla. To achieve the high quality of wine everything is done by hand in the vineyards and the winery.
